Cleveland Clinic London is pleased to announce that it will begin seeing patients in its first outpatient centre, located at 24 Portland Place, from Autumn 2021. The centre will host outpatient appointments with the Clinic’s leading specialists, GP and health screening services, and diagnostic testing.
Like all major construction projects, the work at Cleveland Clinic London’s facilities had to temporarily pause when the Covid-19 crisis hit in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the workforce. As lockdown restrictions have eased, appropriate site operating procedures have been implemented to resume work safely in line with government and industry guidelines, whilst ensuring the safety of onsite workers. Cleveland Clinic London’s hospital, located at 33 Grosvenor Place in central London will follow the outpatient centre, opening in early 2022.
The global social and economic impact of the pandemic has further highlighted the critical future role of healthcare and reinforces Cleveland Clinic’s commitment to investing in London, one of the leading international healthcare centres. Once open, Cleveland Clinic London’s main hospital will have 184 inpatient beds, including 29 ITU beds; eight operating rooms; a full imaging suite; endoscopy and catheterization labs; day case rooms for surgery; and a full neurological suite with rehabilitation. The facility will offer comprehensive medical and surgical services, with a special focus on Heart, Vascular & Thoracic, Digestive Disease & Surgery, Neurosciences and Orthopaedics.
Dr Brian Donley, CEO of Cleveland Clinic London comments: ‘We are incredibly excited to be bringing Cleveland Clinic London to life. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges and an unavoidable delay due to lockdown, but we are now making great progress whilst ensuring the safety of all workers on site. We are building one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the UK, a state-of-the-art facility, and are thrilled to confirm these new dates.’
